I just use a little point and shoot, a Nikon Coolpix S6. There’s a closeup function on it (I think it’s called a “macro” function, and probably most cameras like this have it) that I use for my photos. I try to get natural lighting and not use the flash. I have a teeny cheap tripod that helps steady the camera, b/c without the flash, the autofocus is also disabled. Then if I have any unintentional fuzziness, I clear it up with Photoshop.

I decorated these cupcakes in a class I took. We didn’t actually bake the cupcakes ourselves…they were baked for us before class, so we could just concentrate on the decorating. They were just regular sized cupcakes, but the liners were about 1/4″ taller than say the Reynolds ones you’d get at supermarket (if you are in US). They were about 2.5″ in diameter and 1.5″ tall. Any brand for a regular muffin/cupcake tin should work, though. Hope this helps.
