How weird! It certainly looks like a biscuit. I’m sure the extra butter (which I’m assuming was the problem if it was oozing in the oven) didn’t hurt the flavor at all!

Hmm, the butter in mine did ooze a tiny bit, but not like you are describing. They look good though and I bet they were good with homemade jam.
